Exploring the Future of Care: Highlights from the London Care Show

So, imagine a big, bustling event where people all over the care world gather to share ideas, learn new things, and connect with each other. That’s the London Care Show! As a dedicated provider of care services, we were thrilled to attend this extraordinary event last week and experience the broad range of hands-on workshops, informative seminars, and exhibitors showing off all the latest and greatest in care innovation.

We were blown away by the thousand of insightful conversations about health and social care under one roof in day 1. Many of these were facilitated by the wonderful speakers’ sessions we attended:

– Difficult Conversations: How to enhance your workplace communication skills with Adam Mellor from Crisis Prevention Institute

– Diversity and Inclusion: cultivating a harmonious culture for workplace excellence with Amrit Dhaliwal QFP from Walfinch

Grow your care business and become a care provider of choice: a panel with Tobi Alli-Usman  from Prosperwell (formerly Smooth Digital), Vicky H. from Kingsway Care, Kat Clayton from Berkley Care Group and Lisa Vile  from Athena Care Homes (UK) Ltd

– Mind Matters: nurturing mental health for the future workforce with Monica Menniti from Nursebuddy – home care software, Lee Trueman  from Health Automated, Mark Topps from The Caring View  and Stella Shaw from STELLACARE HOME CARE SERVICES, LLC

– 2024 Recruitment trends with Neil Eastwood from Care Friends

– Elevating workplace morale with Gemma Bullock from Retinue

– Growing a homecare business through retention, relationships and trust with Carly Rochester from ME Passport, Muhammad Damji from Caring Crew and Margaret Dowsett from Lodge Group Care UK Ltd

The inspiration factor was off the charts! We are passionate about training, development, and outreach and the Care Show was a brilliant opportunity for us to engage with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering a community like-minded individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of those we support. After day 2 we returned with fresh ideas, new connections, and a reinforced commitment to our mission. Thanks to amazing guest speakers:

– Care Connections: mastering social media with Amy Dobson from Hallmark Luxury Care Homes and Ben Miller  from MILKWOOD CARE LTD

– Who Cares for Those Who Care? with Shani Gray from NCL ICB, Sue Ann Nnamani from Priscilla Wakefield House and Louise Keane from North Central London Training Hub

– Digital Marketing Session with Adam James from Springup PR

– Looking Outstanding Retention of Staff with James Rycroft from The Outstanding Society, Ben Miller, Karen Hedger from Bright Selection, Lara Bywater and Samantha Crawley (ANLP)

– The Future Workforce with Thomas Vaughan from TAMWORTH HOME CARE LTD, Megan Knight, Alex Ball from Stow Healthcare Group and Sandie Torres.

And of course a special shoutout to the Miniature Shetland Therapy Ponies!

This was such an enriching experience and a chance to learn, connect, and be inspired. From the innovative solutions to the heartfelt connections, it was a reminder of why we do what we do. Until next time, London Care Show💚★
